Dr. Aviv Ouanounou is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at the faculty of dentistry, University of Toronto. He received both his DDS and MSc at the University of Toronto. He teaches pharmacology to undergraduate and graduate students and is also a clinical instructor. Dr. Ouanounou won numerous teaching awards including “Best Teacher of the Year Award” in 2013. Also, Dr. Ouanounou is the recipient of the 2014-2015 prestigious Dr. Bruce Hord Master Teacher Award for excellence in teaching at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. Dr. Ouanounou is an author of many peer-reviewed articles in the fields of neurophysiology and neuropharmacology. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Management and the American College of Clinical Pharmacology. He also maintains a general private practice in Toronto.
Dr. Yang is the Provincial Practice Leader in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the BC Cancer Agency. He is one of three surgeons of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Group alongside Dr. Kenneth Chow & Dr. Jason Choi. In addition to private practice, Dr. Yang lecturers regularly for the General Practice Residents at the Vancouver General Hospital & the Graduate Prosthodontics Residents & Undergrad Dental students at UBC and Oral Pathology Residents at the BC Cancer Agency.
Dr. Yang received his dental degree from the University of Toronto. He completed his General Practice Residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He then went on to complete his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Yang maintains both a private practice and a hospital practice, with particular interests in osteoradionecrosis, medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw and complex implant reconstruction.
Dr. Harry Höediono is a 1990 graduate of the University Of Toronto School Of Dentistry. He is a Moss Star Scholar and was awarded the Keith Box Silver Medal in Periodontal surgery. He is Past President of the Ontario Dental Association, and has sat on numerous ODA committees, including the award winning Oral Health Strategy Advisory Committee. He is an ODA Media contact dentist, appearing in numerous newspaper, magazine, and radio/television interviews on various current dental topics. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Grand River Hospital and a staff dentist for St. Mary's Hospital. He is founder and President of ONTRACKces a continuing education software company. Dr. Höediono has been in general dental practice with his wife Dr. Helen de Man for 24 years and devotes much of his practice to full mouth rehabilitation and complex occlusions. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International, The Pierre Fauchard Academy, and in 2008 was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Jonathan A. Ng is a Certified Specialist in Prosthodontics. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Alberta and his Prosthodontic specialty at the University of British Columbia. His private practice is with Dr. Chris Wyatt in Vancouver where Dr. Ng specializes in complex prosthodontic care and rehabilitation, which included the surgical placement of implants, implant prostheses, fixed and removable prostheses. Dr. Ng is also on staff as an Associate Clinical Instructor at the UBC Department of Dentistry, while also maintaining positions as a Staff Prosthodontist at Vancouver General Hospital and the BC Cancer Agency. Dr. Ng works closely with the emerging technology and has written a thesis as well has published numerous articles on the topic of digital dentistry. As such, Dr. Ng offers a perspective of the current technology that is up-to-date and evidence based.
Dr. José Lança, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology in the Faculty of Dentistry and in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Canada. He received his Medical Degree at the University of Coimbra, Portugal (1977), and a PhD in Neurosciences (1991) from a joint program between the University of Coimbra, Portugal and the University of Toronto (UofT). He is a member of several scientific organizations, including the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, Society for Neuroscience, American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics and the UofT Center for Study of Pain.
Dr. Lança has contributed extensively to curriculum development and teaching of pharmacology and therapeutics in several programs in the Faculty of Medicine (MD and Medical Radiation Sciences), and Interfaculty Pain Curriculum. For six years he was the Undergraduate Program Director in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Medicine, and he is the course director of several Pharmacology courses in the DDS, IDAPP, Graduate and Postgraduate Programs in the Faculty of Dentistry.
He has authored research and continuing education in peer-reviewed publications, and is the author of six chapters in pharmacology textbooks. Dr. Lança has conducted research in various areas including neuropharmacology, pharmacology of alcoholism and drug addiction and herbal medications.
He has developed and taught courses and seminars in Continuing Medical Education, and Continuing Dental Education. His commitment to continuing education emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to clinical pharmacology.
After obtaining his university degree (B.Comm. University of Toronto), Basil obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1984 while working at an international firm of chartered accountants. Subsequently, Basil worked with the Ontario government as a tax auditor before returning to public practice in 1985. He has completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Courses and is a tax specialist. Basil is well versed in all areas of tax, personal and corporate, including GST, estates and trusts and general tax planning.
With two decades of broad experience in the dental field, Bianca Dornan has amassed an extensive amount of knowledge and insight into all aspects of dentistry. Her philosophy begins with the strong belief that a practices greatest asset is the people it employs. Bianca is passionate about teaching the skills and tools necessary to help the team achieve success across the board, resulting in a gratified, knowledgeable and highly proficient group.
Eric Grice has always been passionate about software and technology, and after receiving his Bachelor of Management, spent a number of years living and working overseas, specifically in Japan and Malaysia, helping companies maximize the ROI from their IT resources. Returning to Canada in 2006 he continued in that vein, focusing on software solutions to streamline and automate businesses before making the jump into dental in 2009. Now, over the last 7 years with ClearDent, Eric has helped 100’s of dental offices successfully implement, convert, and transition to paperless and digital.
